What is Acts 29 Review?

This site is called Acts 29 Review because it's a declaration that Jesus Christ is continuing on with His church, and the story of the church didn't end at the closing of the last words of Acts.

I'm not talking about the pagan practices added on throughout the centuries which has become the "church" as we know it in our generation, and generations in the past, I'm talking about an organic church that has existed throughout the centuries that has largely been hidden away and marginalized by those wanting to pretend it never existed.

The so-called "winners" of history write the narrative of what happened, and it is largely from their perspectives and agendas that we receive the stories we get.

In the case of the organic church that has always existed, it has been called a lot of different names at different times in history, depending on their localities, nationalities and sometimes the person that may have had a major influence in their development.

Names like the Paulicians, Moravians, Albigensians and Waldensians, among many others. They weren't the ones who named themselves, rather it was their detractors that assigned these names to them. They considered themselves simply brethren and believers, and nothing concerning being called something other than that was part of their way of thinking.

Their focus was on Jesus Christ, and His being the center of their lives and purpose.

This has been on the heart of God since before He created, and will continue on throughout eternity. In a very real sense, Acts began in the heart of God before He uttered the words, "Let there be light," and will continue on into eternity.

God is again looking to continue on this story, and continues to attempt to write Himself into a people. That's why Paul said concerning the churches he planted that they were a letter written for all men to read. That letter is to be Jesus Christ Himself in a people, being seen and read by all who view the church.

That's the essence of what the narrative of Acts was, and why the Holy Spirit through Luke wrote it. That narrative is still being written today, although the vast majority of Christians don't want to be in the story.

This blog or Web site exists so it can be understood that the church as an organic, living entity ... the body and bride of Christ, is meant to continue on in its testimony of Jesus Christ. Not simply as empty words repeated from bible versus, but by a people that embrace Christ in intimacy and union, and as they're changed into His image, reflect who He is to the people on this earth.

That's a story that will never end, and needs again to be embraced by the people of Jesus Christ.

As for me, I've lived in the church like this, and helped plant some through the years which were born with this sole purpose.
