God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow ... And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Persecution of Christians in Middle East Escalating

source: Fox News
One of the hopefully unintended consequences of the wars in the Middle East has been the growing persecution of Christians, as some of the buffers and people that had protected them in the past were removed from power.

As Islamic terrorists have filled the void, they have stepped up their attacks on Christians, who have reportedly endured being displaced, shot, and in some cases - beheaded. Much of this as the result of refusing to convert to the false religion of Islam.

Iraq was probably the first place the Christian population came under fire, and that has spread across the Middle East as various factions within Islam are emboldened by the lack of the ability to police the region after the vacuum in power came to pass.

Christian believers that have been around since the early years of the church are now in danger of being eradicated from the region.

Interestingly, Christians were in the Middle East far before there was even such as thing as Islam.
